Check out our Top Rewards Cards to boost your points earning and travel more!
The Chase Fairmont card dies tomorrow, August 15, 2017. Accounts will be forcibly converted to Chase Sapphire Preferred.
You can no longer earn Chase Fairmont points – that ended with your statement prior to August 15.
There are two things you can do in the waning hours:
- If you have not met the $6,000/$12,000 spend to get a free night, transactions today should count to the total.
- You can still redeem for Fairmont rewards if you prefer those over conversion to Ultimate Rewards points.
$6,000/$12,000 Spend:
- If you have spent $12,000 in your cardmember year, you will get the 1 night certificate on your anniversary or 8-10 weeks from August 15, 2017, whichever is sooner
- Those who do not have a full-year to spend the $12,000 on their cardmember year will get a courtesy anniversary good to February 28, 2017 if they spend $6,000 by August 15, 2017, exact anniversary date eligible not specified (and you cannot get more than 1 free night certificate in this year)
Chase Fairmont Rewards:
Free night awards start at 25,000 points for standard rooms in their Collection A properties and go up to 75,000 points for a Suite/Fairmont Gold at Collection D. Here are the collections.
Other awards include travel and gift card. The full reward program terms are here.
I have not seen the value in these rewards and am happy to let my points convert to Ultimate Rewards.
