The Rapid Traveler never ventured past his desk this weekend, building out the photos page. Here’s a four-day trip to South Africa, Lesotho and Swaziland. The Rapid Traveler had been in Paris the weekend before and flew back to the US in pain not realizing he had an appendicitis. He went from airport to emergency room and spent the wee hours that Monday on the operating table, but before going under, convinced the surgeon to let him fly to Johannesburg three days later. Good thing The Rapid Traveler listened to safety concerns from his friends and had hired super guide Johan Noppe at Sunrise Africa, who drove all the 2,000 km in three days while The Rapid Traveler mostly dozed, though caught glimpses of great scenery and even the Swazi Royal Family.
