The Gran Hotel Montesol Ibiza has reopened as a Curio by Hilton, reports Travel Weekly. Built in 1933 as the island’s first hotel, it has 33 rooms and is near the UNESCO-listed Dalt Vila (Upper Town).
Points rates are 60,000 points/night off-season and 95,000 points/night peak-season. Searching the award calendar, upcoming off-season runs November 1 – April 30.
Off-season flexible cash rates are around €150 so may be a better deal than points for some.
My only visit to the Balearic Islands, to Palma on Mallorca, was in a February. I enjoyed the off-season vibe and cool weather.
Having access to a classic hotel such is a great addition to Hilton’s portfolio. I much prefer an intimate, historic hotel than a cookie cutter chain hotel.
