This fall the Amex Delta Platinum cards had among their best offers ever: 70,000 bonus miles and 10,000 MQMs.
These public offers ended and the marketing stopped. However, the offer lives on in Amex refer-a-friend links that are valid until February 1, 2017.
Between my wife and I, we have each of the platinum and gold cards. If you use our links we get 5,000 miles bonus, up to 55,000 miles per card per year. More miles = more travel = thank you!
Here are some of my favorite uses of Delta SkyMiles and I recently wrote on how useful Delta SkyMiles are to Australia.
Though Delta SkyMiles are widely mocked, they have been the second most useful miles to me after United MileagePlus in my travels to 186 countries and counting.
Heads Up: each of these bonuses is ‘once per lifetime’ under current Amex rules. If you have had any of these cards in the past, you will not be eligible for a bonus on that specific card. You can get the bonus on any of the below 4 that you have not previously held.
Disclaimer: I am not an American Express marketing partner. The below links are my personal refer-a-friend links.
Amex Delta Platinum:
If you chase Delta elite status, the Amex Delta Platinum cards grant 10,000 MQMs each at the $25,000 and $50,000 annual spend levels.
That first $25,000 also triggers the MQD waiver.
If you have both personal and business cards and spend $50,000 on each, that’s 40,000 MQMs per year. Get started fast in 2017 with the whole year to complete the spend!

Amex Delta Gold:
The Amex Delta Gold cards have some solid offers as well. 50k + $50 statement credit. I used these offers myself in September when they were public.
SkyMiles members without an open Amex Delta card from time to time may be targeted for offers in the 50-75k range, with or without statement credit. Alternately, you may get a 50,000 + $100 statement credit offer in the booking process on the Delta website. I am not aware of prior public offers higher than 50,000.

The Amex Business Platinum, 100k, too!
While you are spending time with me, the Amex Business Platinum card has a 100k bonus going on.
The public offer and refer-a-friend offers are the same. Use my link if you feel like sending me 25,000 points at cost to Amex.
This offer requires total spend of $15,000 for the full bonus. Amex sends 100k or even 150k targeted offers to businesses that may require less spend. No sure-fire formula how to get them.
This is a great card to have even without the bonus. See my You Just Got an Amex Business Platinum, Here are 25 Things to Do.
New in 2016:
- 50% points bonus on single purchases over $5,000
- 50% rebate on pay with points flight redemptions
Amex Business Platinum: apply here
- 50,000 bonus miles after $5,000 spend in first 3 months
- 50,000 more bonus miles after additional $10,000 spend in first 3 months
- Offer expires 1/25/17

Just applied and approved. Been looking for these links. Happy New Year!
Excellent, thanks!
What do you mean by refer a friend links? If so does anyone have a link here that they can share? Thanks in advance!
JL – if you have an eligible card you can see refer-a-friend offers when you log in to your Amex account. You can then email friends with your link. These are not always the best offers, for instance my wife has the Amex Platium (personal) which is only a 40k refer-a-friend, not a good offer, so I have not shared that or recommended that.
Very timely update as I was just looking to apply for the Amex Biz Platinum today! I know this is bad timing for doubling up the travel credit within 12 months. If I applied and was approved today or in the next few days, got the $200 credit for 2017, do you think I could get $200 on Jan. 1 2018 and cancel the card before having to pay the annual fee? You seem to have these renewal timings down to a science….
Rich, yes you will be able to double up, if not triple up at this point.
