Several hours south of Kiev, near Uman, this was my prime target on my Fog, Bribes and Hitler’s Wehrwolf drive in Ukraine.

The grounds are strewn with equipment and deactivated missiles of towering size. Going down into the bunker where Soviet soldiers were sealed in 48-hour shifts is thrilling and terrifying.
