A full Boingo membership is available through certain Amex cards. In the US I have used it in airports and some hotels. Outside the US I have found it most useful in Europe, even some hotels that otherwise charge guests for internet access.

Connection are hit or miss, though have come in handy. There is a basic VPN included for secure browsing.
