Last year the first 25 were released. Images of Indian culture are widely familiar: the faces, the monuments, the food, the scents, the religions, the colors. Yet to many of us the historical figures are elusive. Between Buddha and Gandhi, I confess to have known of very few of the figures profiled, despite numerous trips to the country.
Now the concluding 25 episodes are out as well as the companion book. See the inimitable William Dalrymple’s review at The Guardian and James Crabtree’s review at the FT. The book is not yet released in the US, however Amazon vendors stock it.
