Tickets for FTU Advanced San Diego 2015 went on sale last week with no advance notice and at 5 am Pacific time. There was a lot of buzz and a lot of grouchy people on the West Coast waking up a few hours later.
Since I regularly speak at FTU, the organizers have opened 5 slots for Rapid Travel Chai readers (similar slots have been awarded by FrequentMiler and Hack My Trip). At times I only catch up week to week so I want to reward readers who are not 24×7 attached to their screens.
Important: these are only slots available for registration. These are NOT free tickets. Those receiving one of 5 registration codes must pay the $249 registration fee as well as all other attendance costs, the same as any other attendee.
FTU Advanced San Diego:
- Where: Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina, San Diego, California
- When: March 6-8, 2015
- What: Details and registration link here
- Registration Price: $249
- Hotel room price: $165 per night
I may not be able to attend this event as I may be doing something really cool somewhere in the Pacific, 70 years in the making.
Rules: please leave a comment on this post expressing your interest in attending FTU Advanced San Diego.
Comments must be submitted by Friday, September 26, 2014 at 23:59 PM PDT (going Pacific time for my West Coast friends!). You can only enter once. Prior comments on this post will be grandfathered in for inclusion. Comment must include your email address in that field so I can contact you regarding this matter. Those awarded a booking code will be notified by Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 23:59 PM PDT and have until Friday, October 3, 2014 at 23:59 PM PDT to register and pay for the event, if not, the code will be withdrawn and randomly awarded to another entrant.
I want to reward regular Rapid Travel Chai readers, so the first 3 codes will be randomly awarded to only those who have previously (as of 8:00 am PDT, September 23, 2014) commented on a post at Rapid Travel Chai. Be sure to use the same name and email for this comment as your prior comment so the system recognizes you.
New readers are welcome, so they will receive the next 2 codes, and any additional should regular readers not claim the first 3 slots.

The random draw of new readers goes to: Ann Gerow and Aaron K.
Details emailed to them. Should they not book, I will redraw. For those still looking for tickets, keep an eye for transfer on this MilePoint thread.
It sure would be nice to attend FTU SAN, thanks!
I would like to attend FTU in San Diego. Thanks
I would love to attend this event!
Forgot to buy these earlier, so was hoping to score a ticket. Can’t wait to see all the great speakers
Would love to get one of these tickets! Thanks
I would love to go. I was at work when tickets were on sale.
I would love to go to San Diego to meet others who share the same passion! Pick me, please!
Thanks for the offer, I totally missed the announcement earlier – came back from a europe trip 🙂
Hopefully luck is in my future in getting a reservation spot for FTU SD
Please consider me!
I actually have been following it blog for a while now, just never posted. FTU Advanced would be great, especially since I live in SoCal! Thanks.
I already have a ticket so don’t need one. Just wanted to comment that there’s a chance you won’t be at the San Diego FTU!?!?!??! 🙁
Your sessions have always been entertaining as well as informative. If you do go someplace in the Pacific during that time (WWII related, perhaps?) then you will be missed.
@Joey – thank you. You are indeed right on the Pacific. My plans depend on a new Marine commandant to be appointed in the fall, among other factors.
@Neet – thank for you for the kind words.
This is a fantastic idea Stefan. Love reading your blog, your trip reports from India, especially your visit to Golden Temple in Amritsar remains my favorite. Being a fellow Sikh traveler who just finished visiting 100 countries in April and is looking to visit every country in the world like you, I’d love to be able to attend the FTU advanced in San Diego since I haven’t attended many of these. Thanks again for all your insights and unique perspectives in this “game”. Please Pick me 🙂
would absolutely love to attend. I havnt gotten to go to any of the others due to scheduling and not being able to be one of the first ones to purchase, and have been wanting to for a while- id 100% fly in from NY!
Not sure why but I commented last week and the post didn’t show up on your feed. Nonetheless, as a local San Diegan I’d be stoked to attend this event.
Thanks for considering me!
booked the july FTU in chicago but had to miss it. would like to go this time.
I could use a ticket because it would be a perfect place to celebrate my birthday!
I still feel like I have so much to learn, I would LOVE a ticket!
I would love to attend this! 🙂 🙂
Reader, but first time commentor. I would love to be able to go to FTUA.
San Diego in March sounds nice. Staying at the Hyatt sounds even nicer. Sharing and learning with other frequent fliers makes it all the nicest!
