The Freddie Awards are back. Vote by March 31, 2022.
Airline, hotel, and credit card programs are recognized in three regions: Americas, Europe/Africa, and Middle East/Asia/Oceania.
Many of the nominated programs care enough about the Freddie’s to email their members to vote. Since the programs are listening, make your voice heard.
In 2022 so far we’ve seen most programs snap back to pre-pandemic elite program qualification requirements and turn off the spigot of incentives that we saw in 2020-2021. Some programs have made lasting changes, most notably American Airlines AAdvantage rethinking elite status qualification with their new Loyalty Points. Others have stayed on the same trajectory, such as Delta and United continuing to devalue their award redemptions. Hotels programs look remarkably similar to 2019 on the status side, although the move to dynamic awards has had impacts on Hilton, IHG, and now, Marriott. Credit card programs, too, look similar, while benefits on some travel cards have changed significantly by expanding in non-travel areas.
