Amex has a couple Hilton offers for cardholders that stack with other Hilton and Amex promotions.
Amex Hilton cardholders (regular and Surpass) can register here for 5,000 points for two stays by October 31, 2016 paid for with your card. Both cards have 2.7% foreign transaction fee.
Amex Platinum cardholders can register for Hilton Gold Status here and receive 7,500 Hilton points for a 2-night stay by November 15, 2016. The website does not show this offer. I received it in the mail package Platinum Selects – Fall Edition. It is not targeted and is open to both personal and business platinum accounts. Here is the offer and terms in case the bonus does not automatically post.
Hilton’s double points promotion runs through 8/31/16 and something for later dates should soon appear. Register here.
Check your Amex Offers in your Amex online account. My Platinum card has the following offers for Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn:
- Hilton: spend $200, get 3,000 Membership Rewards points (not Hilton points) through 10/18/16, US locations only
- Hilton Garden Inn: spend $175, get $35 back through 10/31/16, US locations only
My Amex Hilton did not have any such Hilton-related offers.
These offers require booking direct with Hilton. I don’t know if there is a way to stack with $50 hotel credit for booking with Amex Travel by 8/31.

The Platinum Selects package includes other offers for high-end retail, some in-store that require the coupon, some online. An example is $300 off $1,000 purchase in store at Ethan Allen.
The only other travel-related offer is for a company called IfOnly, 30% off an order up to $5,000. The website launches a pop-up requiring email address, facebook or google sign-in preventing you from first seeing what they do. It does not go away by clicking elsewhere. Forget it. Any company with that intrusive of a first impression is not going to get my data or my time.
My take: Hilton has so many offers and promotions it is easy to lose track. Register for everything and if you are paying for Hilton stays, these are nice bonuses that can be earned on cheap stays since there is no minimum spend.

The Surpass 7,500 HHonors point offer is for a “qualifying stay” of two or more nights. Would an award booking be a “qualifying stay?”
@Randy – I reread the terms, “qualifying stay” is not defined, it does say pay with Platinum card, I doubt it would work on an award stay, if you do have an award stay and have some incidental charges, might as well try. Please report back if it works.
