BofA Asiana Amex 25k-38k Bonus Offer

Check out our Top Rewards Cards to boost your points earning and travel more!

The Asiana Airlines American Express Card from Bank of America is running a limited bonus until 10/31/2014:

  • 10,000 miles after first purchase
  • 15,000 miles after $2,500 purchase in first 90 days
  • 13,000 miles with purchase by December 31, 2014 of a roundtrip ticket on Asiana from a US gateway, ticket must be in name of the primary cardholder

Asiana Amex 38k

This is better than the typical offer of 10,000 miles after first purchase. Those who do purchase a ticket to get the extra 13,000 may have the $100 annual statement credit applied to that purchase. Other annual benefits such as the 10,000 miles and 2 lounge passes (for Asiana’s US lounges only) are clearly stated to only be awarded at card anniversary. See full card terms here.

The cards earns 3x on Asiana, 2x on gas & grocery, and 1x everywhere else.

The annual fee is $99 and is NOT waived the first year.

This offer is emailed to members of Asiana Club however is open to all. You can apply using this link or by calling 800.932.2775 and referencing priority code VACATW. View from the Wing earlier in August listed the same offer working under this link with code VACATY, which does not list an expiration however to get the extra 13,000 for the ticket, you would need the card in hand by December 31, 2014.

This is a specialist card that some will find value. View from the Wing has a post where a reader explained his way to work the card, see The Hidden Value of the Asiana Award Chart and the Asiana American Express. US to Europe in business class with 4 stopovers for 70k roundtrip is a highlight (capped at 10,000 flown miles). Up to 5 family members can pool miles for awards.

The card is branded American Express but issued by Bank of America, so does not count to the Amex 4 credit card limit.

I have flown Asiana once and had a great experience. While Korean Air goes for steely sexiness, Asiana goes for a more homey, welcoming experience, while still having everything perfectly in place.

Disclaimer: I have no financial relationship with Bank of America and use of the application link in this post does not pay me any commission.

unfortunately the card no longer offers 2x on all spend as it did at the time of the earlier article. Perhaps still interesting to some who are looking to bofa for opportunities.
