Want to talk miles and points and travel industry with people who do not roll their eyes? Come to Professor Thom‘s on Tuesday, July 30 at 6 pm, for the inaugural Reach for the Miles Meetup. UPGRD Mike is your host, joined by The Miles Professor, UPGRD Fozz, and Wandering Aramean.
I was involved in the some of the early planning and am sad to miss out due to travel, though I can have a post-meetup with anyone stuck at Newark that night at midnight when I come in from China.
Join the Reach for the Miles Meetup Group, 78 members and growing, to RSVP and be informed of future events. We want to make it a fun atmosphere to meet and share, welcoming travelers of all experience levels. Those, like me, inclined to stare at their shoes in the corner, may enjoy a few icebreakers to get the ball rolling. @Mike Thanks for the info! I actually had to cancel earlier today for Travel Massive so I’ll be coming tomorrow to Reach For the Miles. Looking forward to the event!

@Micheal W, I actually contacted the Travel Massive folks and was told their meetup was going to be mid-July. You can imagine my disappointment when they scheduled it for the day before Reach For the Miles even though it was already posted. Anyway, only 10% of the attendees overlap the two events so you should attend both. It will be a very different conversation between the two.
Darn, missed the last one at Westin GC and will be gone for this one as well. But I’ll be in Kauai for my honeymoon so no tears shed . . .

I joined this group a couple of weeks ago but won’t be going to the Meetup. It’s the day after Travel Massive’s Meetup at the same venue.
Odd or coincidental that both Meetups are at the same location?
@Michael W Travels – Mike is involved in both and it is used by a number of travel groups for the large space upstairs with balcony that is a nice place to mingle or have small group talks, I have been to it for a few events and it seems to work well.
Day after I leave for 17 days in Iceland.
@LarryInNYC – in 17 days you can really leave no cube unturned.
