On my mind: I’ve not flown Singapore Airlines mainline, only their regional carrier SilkAir. The Singapore Airlines lounges in Singapore for Star Gold passengers and business class passengers disappoint. Singapore’s Airport is the most depressing in the world to me. In Brisbane their lounge has Tim Tams, and they make a decent go of it in a small space in Perth. I’m sympathetic to a traveler’s one word review of flying Singapore Airlines – ‘Meh.’

wow. Interesting this was such a touchy subject! bwahahaha
@john – ‘hurting the feelings of the Chinese people’ has expanded well beyond the original PRC foreign policy use both culturally and geographically. Pretty much anything you put online that might twitch an eyebrow that involves Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, or, yes, even Singapore, you’ll need to expect such reactions. Many of these are people that set to set internet alerts for these things, each time for me there are a chunk who at least judging by commenting logs are first-time to the site.
who do you think you are to make such a nasty comment of SIN? How about those third world standard airport in your country? And why it is depressing for you while it is rated the best airport in the world? A lot of readers tolerate your very left wing biased view but please be fair and balanced on non political agendas or your blog is just getting less and less value to read.
The Singapore Airlines Star Gold and Business Lounges are widely reviewed as not living up to the hype or competitor offerings, though they have their defenders and I do like the tea. I was positive about their lounges in Brisbane and Perth. I did not judge the mainline flying experience because as I stated, I’ve not flown it, I only said I am sympathetic to the review I linked to. I’d be happy to try Singapore Airlines mainline at some point if it works out that is no more costly and no more out of my way than other options,… Read more »
