I’m the first guest at the Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island that opend today!
I’ve tracked this opening for two years to reach Seychelles Outer Islands (Zil Elwannyen Sesel). This is my 300th Travelers’ Century Club territory. 27 to go!
Desroches Island is 227 km southwest of Victoria, Seychelles. This is one of the most remote luxury hotels in the world. Reach it by the Four Seasons charter flight, yacht, or a heckuva swim.
I even beat the media, here’s the world’s first look from opening day. More to come!
The massive suite upgrade is the magic of Katie of Travel by Katie that booked my room with Four Seasons Preferred Partner program. The rate is equals the best public available rate, and adds in breakfast for two, $100 spa credit, and combined with the Island Preview rate, I also get dinner for two. Too bad I am solo. I paid for my room in full, Four Seasons has not sponsored my stay.

Definitely interested to hear what you thought of the resort. Food, activities, etc. Would also be curious to hear how you got there and back.
I continue to be fascinated to follow along as you complete your country (and territory!) collecting – thank you for taking the time to share with us.
Nice Post, Did the Panama Hats come with the room?

But the new one is even worse than the old one and much wosre than the one before. Oh mine! Glad you are back with new style of mainstream. But I miss what you did before.
Someday I’ll find a way to make you happy! All the commenting tools have their pros and cons, I’ll spend time next week tweaking the settings to hopefully improve it. The native WordPress system has many drawbacks, Disqus does too, this was has a compromise appeal that I think will get working well. Site is not drastically changing, this is something of a one-off for a trip I planned various options for 2+ years and with no points way to do it, am learning how to get mainstream media coverage and partner for such things.
The place looks amazing! Fancy yet tasteful. Seychelles is definitely on my “dream trip” list. Enjoy!
This is so not you. Did you win lottery? And now need to verify pin to post comment?? that’s really annoying!
You did not like Disqus so I am trying an alternate, same one Doctor of Credit now uses, I’ll fiddle with the settings. I did not win the lottery, instead am working on different things to monetize and see what works, this is a test foray into what mainstream travel media likes.
