Delta unofficially confirms MAJOR change to SkyMiles program at Freddie AWARDS

Delta officials unwilling to speak on record last night unofficially confirmed that a much beloved benefit of the SkyMiles program was quietly removed recently to the outrage of their customers. The protest thread on FlyerTalk is over 100 pages and growing.

Yes, the Diamond Medallion complimentary print subscription to Conde Nast Traveler Magazine appears to be gone for good.

Ok, yes, in the comedic spirit of Freddie Awards emcee Robert Wuhl, The Rapid Traveler is having some fun with recent rumor-mill on potential changes to the SkyMiles program and could not resist leading with a homage to Delta Points blog headlines.

View from the Wing, as always, has detailed analysis. And then there is is 142-page and growing thread on FlyerTalk.

Delta representatives were in attendance at the Freddies, generous with their time in meeting even lowly bloggers. And of course they could not comment about any of these rumors.

The joke will be on The Rapid Traveler and his economy class flights-to-Diamond status ways if these changes do actually occur…

@Aaron – sorry my attempt at humor did not work for you, thank you for the feedback, I will appreciate it if you give me another look sometime.

Very funny…You shouldn’t play such jokes on someone who hasn’t finished their first cup of coffee yet… 🙂

Delta Points

😉 I would love to know if they will adopt my readers choice new slogan for 2013 “Delta – Award seat availability rumored to exist”
