Didn’t snag any completely amazing deals, but did stack some discounted gift cards with a rare 20% off to lessen the sting of buying my daughter an American girl doll. Strolled through the quiet aisles of Target at noon on Black Friday. That’s a good tip, actually. If you want the good deals of BF, like 40% off all clothes, but can live without the door busters …go around 11 and do your shopping. Target and Kohls have both been reasonably quiet at that time for me. I almost didn’t enter this contest, then I realized my husband and I… Read more »
Spent the holiday with friends and family. Did NOT contribute to the economy on black Friday !
After making two trips to Best Buy and fighting the crowds, I ended up buying an item on Amazon and saved $100. Yay!

My husband and I took the day off and had a small feast of leftovers. We will travel during the Christmas holiday instead. Thanks for offering these passes!
Went apartment hunting because my sister’s moving to NYC this coming new year!
Went on a road trip out of town for the night.
Rather than shop, I relaxed with Amtrak – the Vermonter through scenic Vermont! Much better!
Was overseas, so did not do any shopping in the US.
My wife and I stayed home, ate Thanksgiving leftovers, and played with our dog. No regrets.
Spent Thanksgiving day in San Diego and took the kids to Legoland so I had to make sure that my cell phone was charged for a whole day of searching deals while waiting in the ride lines!
Woke up early Friday morning and headed out, drove almost an hour and then….we cut down our Christmas tree! Later that day attended our village’s tree-lighting ceremony. No shopping whatsoever! Firmed up our hotel reservations for a warm getaway this coming weekend to California. 🙂
I redeemed my Amex gift cards that I purchased at Office Depot for no fee with a Chase Ink card (5X points) and use it at Costco. Only I found out the hard way that one card did not actually activate with Amex despite confirmation from OD, prompting a 15 minute call and instructions to FAX proof of purchase, my ID, address, card images, etc.
Dined out on Thanksgiving then spent Black Friday ice skating with friends. Best part was there was nobody there since everyone was out shopping. Thanks for the giveaway!
The family went to Andy’s Orchard’s open house in Morgan Hill, CA to admire the fruit trees, sample holiday favorites like eggnog, and buy our fruit, nut, and chocolate treats. Traffic on Highway 101 was a bit slow, but we wanted to go early. I will miss the other open house weekends because I am flying United and will be out of town. I would love to win the United Lounge passes.
Bought a new TV for $150! 🙂
I went to the theater.
saved a couple of hundred dollars on Gadventures tours and took advantage of some amazon gift card deals
I went to the movie theatre and saw a couple of movies
Hung out in New Orleans with family and went to a birthday party
massaged my golden retriever who hurt his paw by chasing a coyote. Bonding with my dog is better than snagging a deal.
I got a great deal on a starwood hotel in hawaii!
I went window shopping with the spouse, and we watched the last Hunger Games installment.
Took advantage of Amazon’s sales for some new gym gear
I stayed in, visited friends and binge watched Man in the High Castle.
Caught up on some sleep and ate leftovers.
Took a kid hunting.
Got a last minute award to London! BA First was not the usual “first experience,” but much better than being in the Black Friday madness.
I shopped online all day
I watched a lot of football.
as a volunteer, helped manage the annual Thanksgiving festival for a local Catholic church to raising $ for school building construction.
Missed out a few good BF deals that I had wanted to buy, but felt good to contribute time & effort for a very good cause
I did absolutely nothing and while it was wonderful, my December now looks very frightening.

Filled out hand written entries to the IHG Priceless Surprises Promotion.

Was able to get Hyatt gift cards for 8.3% + $10 off $100 on raise!
Went to Sedona AZ instead of shopping!
Didn’t do much shopping as we aren’t doing many gifts this year – we are heading to Australia the day after Christmas!! These passes would come in handy.
I didn’t shop much in black Friday. I just took advantage of the amazon kindle for $35 to give it a try tobthat cheap tablet.
I would love to have a pair of United club passes since I have a trip to Peru, Machu Picchu, and then Santiago for the holidays. Leaving on December 19th, and I can’t wait for that trip! Very exited! 🙂
I did not shop over the weekend. Instead, I spent each day with family and friends to try to catch up since I was home for 5 straight days!
