Amex continues to have great refer-a-friend offers on its Delta cards. These are equal or better than public offers.
The public offers expire April 11, 2018. With refer-a-friend you have until May 16, 2018 to apply.
Between my wife and I, we have each of the Amex Delta Platinum cards. If you use our links we get 5,000 miles bonus, up to 55,000 miles per card per year. More miles = more travel = thank you!
Here are some of my favorite uses of Delta SkyMiles and how useful Delta SkyMiles are to Australia.
Heads Up: each of these bonuses is ‘once per lifetime’ under current Amex rules. If you have had any of these cards in the past (at least within 7 years), you will not be eligible for a bonus on that specific card. You can get the bonus on any of the below other cards that you have not previously held.
Disclaimer: I am not an American Express marketing partner. The below links are my personal refer-a-friend links.
Amex Delta Platinum:
If you chase Delta elite status, the Amex Delta Platinum cards grant 10,000 MQMs each at the $25,000 and $50,000 annual spend levels.
That first $25,000 also triggers the MQD waiver for Silver-Platinum, while Diamond now requires $250,000.
If you have both personal and business cards and spend $50,000 on each, that’s 40,000 MQMs per year.
Amex Delta Platinum (personal): apply here
- 70,000 bonus miles and 10,000 MQMs for $3,000 minimum spend in first 3 months
- $100 statement credit with Delta purchase in first 3 months
- $195 annual fee not waived
- Offer expires 5/16/18
Amex Delta Platinum (business): apply here
- 70,000 bonus miles and 10,000 MQMs for $3,000 minimum spend in first 3 months (down from $4,000 last year)
- $100 statement credit with Delta purchase in first 3 months
- $195 annual fee not waived
- Offer expires 5/16/18
Amex Delta Gold:
The Amex Delta Gold cards currently only offer 50k through refer-a-friend.
In late 2017 these were 60k.
Best to wait for a better offer, so I am not posting my refer-a-friend links.
Thank you for your support.

I would be happy to use your link to apply. The old posts you wrote. ‘Where and How to Redeem Delta SkyMiles Now” is useful , concise and easy to read. But maybe you can update this post a little bit …are the required miles still the same since you wrote in 2014? Is one way still 65K from U.S to Brisbane? How do you like China Eastern? Are they really so bad as Lucky said? Are there more devaluations since then? Does Delta still fly Prince Edward Island? Knox’s Dam Bed and Breakfast’s webpage doesn’t seem to exist anymore.… Read more »
@Shannon – due for an update. Always a moving target, these things, especially Delta not publishing charts, a guideline holds for a whole then shifts again. Lucky is a bit dramatic, makes him a great storyteller. China Eastern service is not great by world standards, not even great in the eyes of many Chinese customers. The newer planes have good hard product. Meals so-so. Ground service and the frequent China flights delays are the biggest issues, to my mind. I see them as a good backup, though my preference is roughly Korean Air, China Airlines, Xiamen Airlines, China Southern, China… Read more »
