The Club Carlson Visa award booking 2 for 1 benefit is going away June 1 (technically it is free last night on award stay so best maximization is booking 2-night stays). Last day to book is Sunday, May 31.

What you may not know is that Club Carlson Elite members can transfer to other members with no fee. Non-elites can transfer to household members at same address.

The terms from Club Carlson:

Can I transfer my Gold Points to another Club Carlson account?
Elite members may transfer Points from their account to another Program member account upon request. All other members (non-Elite) may transfer Points to another Program member residing in the same household provided that both individuals have been a Program member for at least one year and the addresses for either account involved in the transfer have not been up updated within thirty (30) days prior to the transfer request. All members can request a transfer by contacting Member Services. Club Carlson reserves the right to require proof of eligibility or residency and, in its sole discretion, deny a Point transfer request.

This transfer is instant, however Club Carlson only staffs the phones until 7 pm Eastern on weekdays. If you need a transfer, call 888-288-8889 by close of business Friday to maximize your points by May 31. Club Carlson will need to obtain phone authorization from the other member for the transfer.

The Club Carlson booking calendar is open 3 years. Farther out than 1 year there are relatively few hotels with points rates loaded, unfortunately it is a case-by-case search to see what is available. Some hotels have cancellation policies of 2 or even 4 weeks in peak times, so take note to not lose points by forgetting to cancel bookings you won’t use.
