I agree that points and miles valuations are most useful to beginners, who otherwise have no basis for understanding, for example, whether an IHG point or Starwood point is worth more. In the long run, of course, it all depends on how you use the points personally. A frequent traveler gets a feel for that. An infrequent traveler, though, can benefit from studying what a few experts say if making “which card should I apply for?” or “which miles should I use” types of decisions. why don’t you move to Canada or China if you hate your country?
I contrasted the different style of national day celebrations between two neighbor countries. Seeing and considering differences is part of being a thinking traveler. I did not say one was better or worse, and I don’t think I mischaracterized either. Btw, I did live in China for nearly a decade, I would be happy to live in Canada sometime, either Toronto or somewhere in the Maritimes, for the moment I am happy to live in America and proud of aspects to be proud of.
