Four Seasons Maldives Private Island is set to open on December 1, 2016. Located on Voavah, Baa Atoll, the island can accommodate 22 guests in 7 bedrooms, and features a 62-foot yacht.

Booking is by inquiry only. Travel Weekly reports rates are seasonal: $38,000-$46,000/night.  It is the first private island from Four Seasons, which has two existing Maldives resorts. For that price guests can ‘design their own experience.’

Until Four Seasons has a smoking hot credit card in the US I’ll shelve my plans for this getaway.

I have been monitoring Four Seasons because they have taken over Seychelles’ Desroches Island, due to reopen in late 2017. Along with Alphonse Island it is one of the two islands open to the public in the Outer Seychelles, a Travelers Century Club Destination. Under old management, Desroches occasionally accommodated day trippers. That management group has consolidated at Alphonse and is not playing ball with day trippers.

Four Seasons Desroches Island will have 40 suites and 11 villas. I nervously watch Seychelles News Agency for updates on room rates. Maldives has me nervous.
