“It’s JFK,” the friendly front desk manager at the Hilton Garden Inn JFK said when I mentioned the weekend disruption of JFK AirTrain closed between Federal Circle and the terminals, and numerous subway closures detailed in MTA’s The Weekender. It is enough for me to burn 40,000 Hilton points to get out to JFK Friday night and position me for early departure and wife for later departure, heading in different directions and crossing paths for kisses at points distant.

You should consider going to JFK to see the TWA Flight Center before it begins conversion to a restaurant and hotel lobby. It will be open to the public Saturday, October 11 from 11 am – 3 pm as part of Open House New York. Michael W Travels shares the details and a photo tour from last year.

What better venue for the monthly Reach for the Miles Meetup? We have 32 RSVPs of fellow travel enthusiasts set to meet at the TWA Flight Center at noon. I wish I could join, but I can’t resist that weekly flight to Grenada.

The shuttle buses from Federal Circle will stop at the TWA flight center, so go for it. Revel in a grand flight past as you cruise by the broken AirTrain of the present.
