Incidentally, Taiwan is an underappreciated place to visit, especially to get out in nature. Lovers of personal freedom and democracy find much to share with Taiwanese, indeed, their democracy is an exhilarating full contact sport. Those interested in traditional Chinese culture can more easily find authentic experiences than in the Mainland. For instance, among scholars of Confucianism, the hotspots are Taiwan and South Korea.
