Brazil throws down the gauntlet for currency collectors

63 local currencies in addition to the main Brazilian real, one, the capivari with a pig-sized rodent as its mascot. This according to a delightful piece from the Wall Street Journal. There has got to be some intrepid traveler out there who will collect them all. A comprehensive list did not turn up in a quick online search, but perhaps a Portuguese-speaking reader can locate one.

The Rapid Traveler is hobbling between work and sick bed, planning a trip to Brazil with his remaining BA miles balance. This will be a joint trip with Mrs. Rapid Traveler, which means he is probably going to collect 0 of 63 but it is still fun to dream of trading in crisp rodentbacks.
